4. Laughing Kookaburra
What can you hear sitting near the window in the morning somewhere in Australia? You probably hope to hear some pleasant birds warbling or singing, but you are more likely to hear this loud and rough laughter that belongs to the Kookaburra bird. The very distinctive laughter is often mistaken for the calls of many different animals such as donkeys or monkeys. The loud calls can wake up anyone in the morning and for this reason, their early cackling earned the nickname Bushman’s clock.
